Frequently Asked Questions

What questions do you have?

What does “cash-based physical therapy” mean?

Cash-based physical therapy means we do not bill insurance directly. Instead, patients pay for each session at the time of service. This model allows us to provide individualized, high-quality care without the restrictions or limitations imposed by insurance companies. Think of it as an investment for your body, in order to stay healthy so you can do the things you love such as going to the gym, playing with your kids, running a 5k.

Do you accept insurance?

We do not contract with insurance companies. However, we can provide you with a detailed receipt (also known as a superbill) that you can submit to your insurance provider for potential out-of-network reimbursement.

Why choose cash-based physical therapy?

Our model allows for:

  • More one-on-one time with your therapist
  • Personalized treatment plans
  • Longer session times
  • Freedom from insurance-imposed restrictions

It often results in better outcomes and fewer total visits.

Where do your sessions take place?

As a concierge physical therapist, we bring the treatment directly to you - whether that’s your home, office, or another convenient location. This approach saves you time and allows for a comfortable, one-on-one experience in your own environment.

If your treatment requires access to more specialized gym equipment or open space (such as for athletic performance or return-to-sport training), I also offer sessions at select partner gyms and fields. These locations are fully equipped and chosen to support advanced rehabilitation and training needs.

Let me know your goals, and we’ll find the setting that works best for you.

Do I need a referral from a doctor?

In most cases, no referral is needed. Direct access laws allow patients to see a physical therapist without a physician’s referral in Florida. However, some insurance providers may require a referral for reimbursement if that applies to you. Check with your provider for specifics.

How long is each session?

Our sessions typically last 60 to 75 minutes, depending on your needs and the treatment plan developed with your therapist.

What should I wear to my appointment?

Please wear comfortable clothing that allows easy movement and access to the area being treated (e.g., athletic wear). Avoid restrictive or formal clothing.

What types of conditions do you treat?

We treat a wide range of musculoskeletal issues, including:

  • Sports injuries
  • Post-surgical rehab
  • Chronic pain
  • Back and neck pain
  • Joint pain
  • Mobility and balance issues

What is your cancellation policy?

We require at least 24 hours’ notice for cancellations or rescheduling. Late cancellations or no-shows may incur a fee. This helps us maintain availability for all patients.

How do I schedule an appointment?

You can schedule online here, call us at (786) 708-7330, or email us at osvaldo@optimyzept.com. We’re happy to answer any questions you have before booking!
